Nonprofits face the daunting task of reaching out to donors, managing donations, handling memberships, automating cases and services and building deep community relations. 1. Children’s Cup
Since childhood, Jean and Dave Ohlerking had a dream of helping downtrodden children. Their dream became a reality in 1992 when Children’s Cup, a nonprofit which supports throwaway children in several backward communities including Swaziland, Mozambique, Honduras, and Mexico was established.
Facing tremendous growth of their non-profit in recent years, the Children’s Cup started using SugarCRM Professional for handling their donations’ lifecycle management. Children’s Cup had a WordPress website. Along with WordPress website, they used Opencart as their e-commerce solution for online fundraising. They faced the trouble of handling two discrete systems simultaneously which consumed a lot of their team’s time and resulted in their business processes being highly inefficient.
Moreover, they also needed to become PCI DSS compliant which requires companies to hold the cardholder’s sensitive information with a PCI compliant hosting provider. For Children’s Cup, this was absolutely necessary as the donors made recurring payments on a monthly basis and did not want to enter their card information every time.
Children’s Cup approached Rolustech, recognizing that the company had complete command over the SugarCRM framework and had previously worked with nonprofits. Rolustech proposed and then implemented the following solutions:
WordPress Integration with SugarCRM: SugarCRM was integrated with Children’s Cup’s WordPress website. With this integration, several sections of the website were controlled from within SugarCRM. Sugar acted as a content management system.
SugarCRM Integration with Open-cart: With this integration, Rolustech achieved complete synchronization between Open-cart and SugarCRM. Now a link was established between all the information in Opencart including customers, products, taxes and currencies and SugarCRM.
SugarCRM Integration with Authorize.Net: SugarCRM integration with Authorize.Net was also carried out. Authorize.Net enables the merchants to authorize, settle and manage credit card transactions via websites. Now the cardholder’s information was entered in Sugar but stored with Authorize.Net, making the whole system PCI compliant.
2. The House of St Barnabas
The House of St Barnabas, formerly known as the House of Charity, was founded in 1846 in London, United Kingdom. The charity was established to construct a future where lasting employment is a reality for those who are victims of homelessness and social exclusion in the society. In order to achieve their goal, an employment academy was set-up to provide people with a chance to improve their key skills which are necessary for building a brighter future.
A team comprising of some of the most notable members of the House of St Barnabas, Amy Leaning and Derek Baker, approached Rolustech for a CRM solution. The House of St Barnabas was attracting a lot of public attention and saw a rise in the number of members. However, it was becoming difficult to manage the growing number of member subscriptions which in turn was having a negative impact on the program. The increase in the members meant that the House of St Barnabas had to deal with more payments but the current system in place wasn’t efficient enough.
